Embark on a 60-minute historical walking tour, geared to the class's specific requirements, which takes you through the streets and alleys of one of the oldest towns in North America. Our tours cover many diverse aspects of Albuquerque’s history. Tours typically include early Native American life, adobe construction, the arrival of the Spanish, trade on the Camino Real and the Santa Fe Trail, the Civil War in Albuquerque, the Plaza, the San Felipe de Neri Church, law and order in the Wild West, the architecture of Old Town’s historic buildings and how today’s residential and retail locations have evolved.

Tours include historic photographs, interesting trivia and fun facts of Albuquerque which helps students to see and understand how the area has grown and changed in three centuries. Students consider how their lives would have been MUCH different had they lived in Old Town when the Villa was first settled in 1706, over seventy years before the United States became a country. |

Ghost Tours are a great way to interest students in Albuquerque’s history. These 90-minute walking tours illustrate the city’s origins, civic life in general and even the science behind today’s most popular ghost hunting techniques. Stories are geared to the ages of the students. Tours include photographs, video and audio clips of possible paranormal activity. Ghost Tours are appropriate at any time of the year, but particularly in October. This tour is very popular with out-of-town schools which are staying overnight in Albuquerque, but also works very well during the daytime.

The ideal amount of time for a tour of Old Town is from 60 to 90 minutes, but times can be adjusted to suit individual timetables and transportation arrangements. There is convenient drop off and pick up points for both cars and buses. Some classes schedule their tour to finish at lunchtime so that they may eat in an Old Town restaurant. (Old Towne Tours can assist with these arrangements, if needed.) There are parks and outdoor areas nearby for sacked lunches as well.
The basic charge for a History Tour is $150.00 per class* (Up to 25 students per class, 1 Teacher, 1 Adult Chaperon).
For a daytime Ghost Tour, the basic charge is $200.00 per class* (Up to 25 students per class, 1 Teacher, 1 Adult Chaperon).
* Listed School Group Prices do NOT include standard 15% Tour Guide gratuity which will be added on to your contract total; plus any applicable service fees or sales tax.
