to find in Old Town:
Patio Market
N 35* 05.746"
W 106* 40.143"
Look UP ! You can still read the 1899 inscription carved into the ceiling beams by the builder...
A large gate once secured the square placita (inner open air patio) of Casa Armijo and two huge Cottonwood trees once provided shade over the drinking water well. An interior window with shutters on the SW side appears to be original as do the three wooden grain chests which still stand in the patio today.
Patio Escondido
N 35* 05.863"
W 106* 40.137"
La Sagrada was a self supporting 1970's center which focused on the study and creation of religious art. Sister Giotto Moots (A Dominican Nun) created the area as a dependable place of retreat where artists could refresh themselves creatively and spiritually. The Chapel, named La Capilla de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe, is one of Old Town's most precious hidden treasures!
Carved Tree
N 35* 05.810"
W 106* 40.176"
This large Cottonwood is another of Old Town's secrets... Our Lady of Guadalupe was carved in 1959 by a local man, Toby Avila.
